actually managed to get status update from rest, using off-site authentication, working today...  didn't use the SDK (didn't trust it), wrote everything from scratch. Not fun.  Especially considering the many ways in which MDP's implementation of oauth does not comply with the specification.

 so you would think that if i've gotten to this point, to where i've got code that successfully makes it all the way through /request_token, /authorize, and /access_token to arrive at receipt of oauth_token and oauth_token_secret at the end, that i SHOULD be able to use that oauth_token_secret to make calls to the various api ...

 you know what, it would be GREAT if the documention mentioned that you want to do a REDIRECT, not an http fetch of content, to do /authorize ...  changed my print() to a header("Location:") and life is grand now.
