My app enables users to post status updates from outside MySpace into their account. With Twitter and Facebook it reads "Via
Spikr" at the end of the status. In MySpace however, is reads "Via
http://lnk.ms/0GDbL" .
I assume that lnk.ms is MySpace's own URL shortning service, but this is problematic; Not only does it actually make my link LONGER and it makes thr posts ugly, but it also prevents the distribution of my brand. Yes, some of us actually have business models relying on a distribution strategy of these apps; blocking our brand names prevents this echosystem from gaining its potential commercial success.
What's up with that? Can I get rid of it? Is it only while the app is pending? Is this MySpace policy or the API provider?
