Myspace should support an API - for locating my email contacts that are already signed up for Myspace.

Today, if I want to locate my email contacts on Myspace - I have to give away my Yahoo, Google, Hotmail, AIM and AOL passwords. Or - look up my email contacts one by one using the web interface - which is not really feasable.

This means that I have to trust Myspace with probably the most sensitive information I have. This is like having to give my credit card secret code to when purchasing something in a shop.

An API call could solve this problem. It will allow me to send a list of my contacts emails to Myspace (preferably over SSL), and receive their MySpace user names in response.

If Myspace is serious about DataPortability, as I see it - this is a Must functionality. What do you say?
