    post bulletins/comments api

Is there an api to allow posting a bulletin or comment? If there is, sample code would be highly appreciated.

I believe this is part of the OpenSocial Activity API. MySpace hasn't implemented this part of the API yet. We are still working on it.

     -Thanks

Will this feature be available before launch?

Is there any update on this?

I would think that it would be a high priority to implement an API that adds this most basic viral functionality... Isnt virality what all app devs aim for?

As a side note, I found a recent forum entry which indicates that this API may be different from the OpenSocial Activity API.... What is the latest word on that?

in my opinion.. allowing people to make bulletin/comment APIs might open up exploits for spammers... bad idea =\

thats just my opinion... if you guys do allow bullein/comment APIs , make sure the API goes through the same bulletin/comment filters to elimante spam.

I asked a similar question (in a roundabout way), in another thread (here: http://developer.myspace.com/Community/forums/t/356.aspx), and this was the answer from one of the MySpace dev team...

Great questions! We will be providing capabilities very soon for applications to make "post" actions via APIs for comments, bulletins, etc. - these will be distinct from the Activities API, and will involve a standard interface for users to confirm the action, but should enable a lot of creativity in constructing new interfaces for MySpace actions.

So, yes, it'll be coming, soon, will not be a part of the Activities API (possibly an extension of MyOpenSpace, but really, could be anything), and because of the confirmation, should limit this as a potential threat from spammers and the like (I assume that this is precisely why they're moving slowly on this one). Ignore the last sentance, that was a response to my exact question.

    Hi V,

Thanks for the reply. In the API docuemntation (REST) there is a comment that GET, POST, PUT, HEAD and DELETE are supported, however the examples describe only Retrieve (GET) type actions

Does availability of the post and delete requests fall into the same category of something to be implemented by MySpace? And if it does do you have a guesstimate as to when this capability will be delivered?

    Thanks
    Sean.

It is really frustrating that the essential features like post comments, invite friends options are not available at myspace api.

I saw another thread with a 10-30-08 posting saying this isn't working.

Can anyone clear this up?  How to post activity (the right column).. and/or how to post bulletins.

Some sample code would REALLY go a long way for tons of people.

Could anyone from MDP team simply confirm if this kind of post api exists or not? A one word reploy "Yes" or "no" would help many. Thanks
