exactly! people dont want the facebook look, now myspace is all too messed up and scattered, IT'S WEAKER, its not easy to work with at all and you dropped many things people haven't noticed just yet. Alot of people went to myyearbook.com when you first started doing these bad moves, and no doubt you'll gonna loose many many more, and whoever is in charge of telling the bigwigs all this change is good, no doubt is gonna lose their job ;)

I never thought I would say it after all these years but I think I'm going to quit myspace with last remaining few. It just thought I'd let you know...you guys have officially killed myspace.

Has anyone noticed, even if you set your pictures to private, they still show up in the Stream for anyone to see??  AND, what happened to our individual privacy settings for each module?  Now, you can not put a module (such as Friends) on your page, however, ANYONE can click the link under the default picture and see the module anyway.  

Facebook lets you customize who sees what right down to specific people.  NICE!  See ya there!

ALSO, there seems to be no setting your profile pictures to private.  I change it to "me" only and it goes right back to "everybody"

The new Myspace sucks! Just plain and simple! I hate the little slide show way of viewing pictures. Everything on the page is all cluttered together, the screen looks smaller because the advertisement on the top and the little IM bar on the bottom that I cant figure out how to take off! I have had a Myspace page since 2006 and I used to like it much better, till they started changing little things like every few months, trying to make it like Facebook. Sadly, Me and a lot of people I know are thinking of just deleting our Myspace pages and just using our Facebook's like we been doing lately.

Well, do you see Myspace? Are you reading what your users say? We dislike this very much. You want to make everything more streamlined and fancy looking, and you want to be an all-in-one site. Thats what it looks like to me. Stop copying Facebook and other sites. Everyone liked Myspace because we didn't get stupid news feed about someone scratching their ass or commenting another person we don't even know. So and so commented xXuglyslutXx's photo I DON'T CARE I'm pretty sure there's a way to change that info we get but I think if the person that commented wanted us to know about it they'd tell us personally. Or post a bulletin. and for those users who post too many status updates let them go to Twitter. and don't integrate it with Myspace.. please. Oh and I just refreshed the page and hate it even more. What are all these boxes everywhere? there was just a status stream like always a while ago.. What the hell? I really liked Myspace like two years ago. It was just fine. When you upgraded to 2.0 it was still pretty cool. some small problems but you got them fixed. Please switch back to the old Myspace or give us an option to do it.

functional > fashionable. its pretty and has all these nice things. Being able to see everything, videos, uploaded pictures, etc. right in someones status is a nice idea to make it easier. but what if you don't care about 95% of that stuff? I go to the page if I want to see it. Its not that much trouble. Plus the pictures are bigger. which makes the page take longer to load (especially if you have a slow connection, only just a bit longer if you have high speed internet connection) and when your mum walks by and she sees an image of a person on the screen she'll come over n be like WHO IS THAT ALJFAOMDFO and you don't even know who the heck they are because your friend commented them and the picture is just there. whether you like it or not. If the settings are anything like Facebook you can block that post when you see it, or block all posts from that friend. Which I don't want to do. I can go on for pages, I'm not sure if this will even post. but please, consider what your users think before you go changing things and think that it will make everything better and bring people back.

i really hate the new myspace. i was pretty excited thinking it might actually get good again but it seems like they are just fucking it up entirely. i don't use the facebook either but it seems like that's all there is anymore. at least they don't go around tweaking all the features every couple of months. i want 2.0 back! myspace really lost it.

I actually like the new MySpace, my music is easier to play around with and I like music playing at all times when on the comp. Really I just don't see the problem. It's not hard to navigate.

I loved, myspace. It's how I connect with a lot of my friends, & I've been here forever, but with this new myspace you have destroyed the simplicity of myspace while trying to simplify it. We're on myspace.com for myspace, why are you trying to force a million games and other sites on here. Please let us have the option of switching to this 3.0 version. Don't like it, don't want it, get rid of it. It sucks, it's slow, the profile them I have that matches my game character will NOT work, which means it sucks. It's horrible, looks like crap, too. Leave myspace alone, it works, no need to fix anything.

This is the worst P.O.S. I've ever seen. I manage an I.T. department for a major University and if I had you morons for a staff I'd fire every single one of you. It's horrible, ill planned, and un-necessary.

Horrible: Hard to navigate, slow to load and sign off, forces people to have things on their home page they don't want like hundreds of streaming notifications and changes from friends, profile themes DO NOT WORK with this new version and I know hundreds of people that worked hard to find or code one that matched their personalities or game characters, absolutely the most ineffective and inefficient pile of monkey dung I've ever seen. This CSS should be scrapped, and the last version left alone. It worked and was easy to navigate and secure.

Ill planned: The users NEVER had a say in this change. WRONG!!!!! Shows your arrogance. That's why you're #4 and falling. Even Facebook is better.

Un-necessary: The last version change was sufficient. It made things easier. Security was clean cut and easy to set. Profile customization was easy for the regular person using the internet. Best of all - IT WORKED!!!! NO NEED TO FIX WHAT ISN'T BROKE.

Put it back before scores and scores of people make a mass exodus. And fire the person or team of monkey's that came up with this. It's THE most useless and horrible CSS I have ever seen in my 28 years in I.T. industry and 20 years of I.T. management.

The new myspace is crap. Cut the trying to be hip bullsh*t, with wow awseome your profile is cool or what ever. It is all mismatched. One thick column one thin, cant see background, scroll bar colours. It has been foisted on everyone whether they like it or not. Just an other example of you know best. In this case so way off the mark. The old one was fun, it made you want to be artistic, this one is like facebook, bland. But then again what do you care.

I see the posting on Tom's myspace has been disabled. Mmmmm wonder why, maybe complaints about the new layout forced on everyone. I do not no anyone who likes it. You lost a lot to facebook, now you will loose more. Myspace was unique but now it is bland like Facebook. As for ease of use. What did you idiots do to my profile page, I put a lot of time into the CSS and HTML code to make my page look unique! What did you people do, hire developers from FACEBOOK? Frankly every time you test, add an item, mission or update, the whole site gets screwed up! Logging to our games becomes impossible!  Game lag time is horrible, we can't gift, arrange friends, or find anything! I know of great numbers of friends leaving MySpace and moving elsewhere! I play Vampires for fun, not to get stressed when I try to do anything either with the application or MySpace site! Fixing the bugs fast is imperative!!

I agree with everyone else. Ive had a myspace for a LONG time. Every time a change has been made, it has gotten worse for the most part. The original design was the best. it was easier to navigate and understand. it looks like a mess now. Myspace was unique, now its TRYING to be like facebook and twitter, but even failed in copying them. Its pretty ridiculous. You should listen to US who make your website possible. Plus, i don't think the privacy settings are better at all. Whatever the IM thing on the bottom is allows random people to IM me. First time i signed on i got an IM with a picture of someone's ***. NO THANKS ill take the old myspace....or just delete it and move to facebook.

NO offense to the gamers...I like to play games too, just not on Myspace. I use Facebook for that, but Myspace WAS my favorite social site. I just can't stand the way Myspace is now... The new myspace is terrible, it's ugly and difficult to navagate. You wonder why people are leaving the site in droves? You wonder why News Corp is threatening to completely take the site down? Because instead of giving people what they wanted, you just tried to make a bad copy of facebook. I used to enjoy myspace as my favorite social network site and was adamant that i'd never go to facebook, but with the version 2.0 change I decided I'd try facebook out and give it a chance. I found that I enjoy facebook more. Why? They are consistant with their site design for the most part, and any changes they make aren't earth jarring, but make the site run smoother, not riddle us with error messages. You want to know how to get back all you have lost? Give us back version 1.0, then your site traffic numbers, and the advertisers will return, and your revenue will improve.

The New MySpace is ugly & takes all individual creativity away. First they took away the ability to have various size fonts & backgrounds in the modules on the profiles, NOW the blog count has disappeared & the customize blog that allowed full screen versions with a background is gone! How much more do they want to take away & then call it an improvement? Facebook is ugly and now so is MySpace. We are not all left-brained businessmen like the ppl who run these entities. GET A CLUE!

How thick are you Myspace developers. Yeh you could not be so happy. It is not about you. It is about the people that have put you where you are, and get your wages from. I hate it!~ I can't figure out how to change my profile pic to a new one from my album no matter what I do or choose as an option, it gives me no place to set it as default profile pic. from reading the comments above I think you may have hit the final nail into the myspace coffin. You keep indicating that these changes were asked for by us. I venture to say not. Not only are people not happy with the changes, but functions are not working properly. I have tried to delete old notifications, they just re-appear. And can you tell me where my over 30,000 comments are? Gone, that's where they are and soon so will all of your ex-users. It is so obvious that you are trying to be like facebook and instead should have concentrated on the strengths that made you popular to begin with. So sad it is.

It doesn't take a Quantum Physics Professor to figure this one out. It was either sometime in 2007, or 2008 when 2.0 came out. When it was first introduced, Myspace was flourishing with huge success, and Myspace allowed us users to 'Choose' whether or not we wanted to switch to 2.0. If the user wasn't happy with it, they were able to 'switch back' to 1.0

Then as several months passed by, that 'choice' was no longer available to those who had 1.0 and wanted to try 2.0, but could not revert back to 1.0

I've heard cries from countless people during that time which resulted in a lot of people no longer logging on. This my friends was the beginning of Myspace's 'demise' Our freedom to 'choose' was taken away, and grossly trodden upon.

This new change will only make Myspace lose tens of millions more of it's users. With that being said, One can only wonder what's going through the mind of, 'Tom'. He's probably shaking his head in utter disbelief saying, "I should never have sold my company to these Bombastic, Bumbling Buffoons." And He'd be right in thinking so. Because you new bigwigs at Myspace destroyed something that was GREAT, and didn't need fixing.

So, You brass bigwigs at Myspace think your so intelligent now? Myspace! "I'm LAUGHING at your superior intellect! And you are the epitome of stupidity!

Sad to say I find this site no longer worth my time.  It's too frustrating and the list of what I dislike has become quite lengthy.  I hear from friends that have deleted that MySpace sends a survey asking why you deleted and if you would come back if previous features were restored.  Could they possibly be listening?  Interesting, but doubtful.

At least facebook is consistent and has privacy settings for everything!  You can actually control who sees what by selecting everyone, friends, friends of friends or by specific people on your friend's list.  AWESOME!!  I miss my backgrounds and my music and meeting new friends ..... but at least it's the happier place to be!

leaving aside the functionality issues (I'm a programmer/developer and would be horrified to be associated with the release this mess, and as usual, myspace help bug report replies are pathetic), these floating toolbars are being forced on us. I play apps here and the new toolbars disrupt my gaming horrendously

and the new format, I don't know who you are targetting, but I see friends leaving in droves. I've been here since 07, I'll still be here, but won't be spending a whole heck of a lot of time here if forced to this new stuff.

I recognize the development issues you face, but it would have been better to actually fix the old format, instead of forcing a whole new kettle of errors upon us

I come here for the interaction with other people and for the mindless, selfserving selfpromotion.  I have learned to make cheezy graphics which i share with my friends and they share with me.  But now the animated gifs i made to use for profile pics are useless.  And I love posting comments but it takes forever to do so. I did not come here for the music, the games or any of that.

A lot of people come here to excape momentarily the crazy world and times we live in.  And when they come here and it takes an hour to do a few simples tasks well then the next time they only have five mins to spend on here they end up putting it off until next months paid holiday.

Far fetched maybe? If not this then how about modules that don't load unless you click on them for the stream, games and all the rest? Everytime I logged in to v3.0 my browser crashes.

But the v3.0 isn't the only problem here.

Why do you allow busybuddys to stop by somebody's page allow them to complain anonymously about something which can ultimately lead to somebody's page being deleted?  This is egregious.  If these busybodys complain why don't you just tell them to MOVE ALONG.  Yes i am suggesting some relaxation of the TOS. If a user allows certain things to be posted to their page and is marginally within the TOS why should somebody who isn't their friend or somebody just browsing by be allowed to have this much power?  If they don't like what they see they should just MOVE ON!!!!

Even though i have signed on to other social networking sites (not facebook) i am still gonna hang on here and hope that the higher ups here make the right decision and changes.  And maybe not interact with the intern, focus group or consultant who came up with v3.0.  You really got hosed on that one.

The new look is very disappointing. Navigation takes longer, scrolling is, all of a sudden, far less smooth than it used to be, updating the HMTL box is a genuine pain in the ***, and the 'sizing down' of Blogs is a major downer! Some of us do use images and videos in their blogs, and the new 'smaller' format is horrible. Also, no more blog counts for the past week, which I referred to frequently to keep track of my readership. Oh well...

I do find it funny that you wont even delete a page when requested so your numbers don't go down. Perhaps the big wigs at New Corp will realize how you are covering up what you have done when they see the data utilization drops seeing they cant use the number of members.

I've never thought of deleting my Myspace until now. I can't arrange my photos the way I want them, and I had a hell of a time changing my default picture earlier...Quit trying to be like Facebook...Thats why there was a Facebook and Myspace, but now that you're trying to make it more like Facebook there isn't going to be a need for Myspace anymore...You keep changing stuff, and its getting annoying. I have four accounts.  One is a fan page for a celebrity who I won't name.  I used to change her background with the 1.0 method on a daily basis when I actually did their personal page.  They left m/s and I started a fan page with all the codes I had save over the years.  I designed all these 4 pages on dial up.  Yes that's right DIAL UP! Now this new version, well it stinks.  

Granted it took me a while to learn how to do the 1.0 method.

I got the hang of it.  I even wrote my own myspace for dummies thing in my photos section, that explained how to design a page, in visual terms.

But now it will be even more complicated.  If I can't figure how to imput my old codes into this new system..well, I may be ending all 4 pages.!!!

The one thing f/b didn't have was the way the page looked.  Myspace had that going for it.  If you make it more difficult to edit the new version, then why should I waste my time?

Unfortunately, I have to agree with everyone here.  I really don't want to lose MySpace because I've always preferred it to the other social networking sites (especially Facebook, which seems to be an ego-filled version of a social network with the point of focusing on yourself instead of your interaction with others).  This version of MySpace however isn't the version that made me feel that way.  I'm still primarily a fan of the 1.0 format.  Even 2.0 was slightly tolerable in comparison to what I'm seeing now, although not really.  With the negative feedback you're receiving, maybe it's something to think about?

FYI - The Delete button doesn't work, however, if you go to the HELP section it tells you the new way to delete your account.  It's probably no accident that the delete button doesn't work.

Remove everything in your About Me and type REMOVE PROFILE.  Then contact myspace Select Account/Delete Profile and they will send an email to confirm.  click on the link they give you and .... 24 - 48 hours later the profile is gone.  I already did it with one page and have set this page to go next.  Funny thing is, they send you a survey and ask WHY you left.  Could they be getting the message?  Maybe.  Maybe Not.

i have to say that not everyone will be too excited about the new myspace profiles. especially if the 3.0 is the only profile choice we have. There are some who like to get creative with their profiles with the 1.0s and some like the 2.0s and yeah some like the new profile. BUT no one should change the profile to 3.0 to a have to profile. it isnt fair. we should at least be able to chose.

Im sure you lost alot of people for the 2.0s and not allowing 1.0s unless you didnt change to 2.0 but as far as i know. alot of the people are leaving myspace because not everyone likes this new 3.0 ***. I personally dont.. i dont like the way the pictures are set up like how it scrolls when you want to view it.  I dont like how you did the friends list either. Not to mention no one can get creative on how they want their profile to look. each person has their own personality and no one can choose what profile they want and how they want it. To me it seems like your controlling that.

Theres one more thing i have a problem with  the new set up with the home page.. its too white and bland you cant choose the color scheme anymore i liked mine black. I like the idea of how the stream was before when you were able to close the boxes when you want the page to be smaller. When everything had its own section and not so hard to find bullies  and having to scroll down to see whos on. The pictures are tiny! when loaded. I can probably handle the profile itself but the homepage is just garabage.

MySpace, the online social hub that's been fighting to stay relevant in the age of Facebook and Twitter, is overhauling its image and its website into an entertainment destination for its mostly younger audience.

The social-networking pioneer, which was among the top Internet sites just a few years ago, now has its sights set decidedly lower. Starting Wednesday and over the next month, MySpace will be relaunching its site to focus on giving users more ways to consume music, videos and celebrity gossip.

Entertainment has long been central to the MySpace experience, but over the years the site was also pulled in different directions as it dabbled in classifieds, job ads and even user reviews in a partnership with Citysearch as it pushed to become a social portal for the Web. It didn't work out, and Facebook is now emerging as that portal.

MySpace CEO Mike Jones said the relaunch "pulls us out of the social networking category" to become a social entertainment destination. So instead of connecting with long-lost friends and sharing baby photos, MySpace wants to be the place where people go to find out about new bands, chat about TV shows and make movie recommendations.

"The vision has definitely gotten a lot smaller in this redesign," said Debra Aho Williamson, a senior analyst at research firm eMarketer. "When News Corp. bought MySpace it certainly didn't envision this. I don't think Rupert (Murdoch, News Corp.'s CEO) thought MySpace would be a small social entertainment website."

News Corp. bought MySpace for $580 million in 2005. For some perspective, that's the same year YouTube launched. After a promising start, the site's luster began to fade and advertisers, along with users, flocked to Facebook. EMarketer estimates that advertisers worldwide will spend about $347 million on MySpace this year, down from $470 million in 2009. The research firm estimates 2010 ad spending on Facebook to be around $1.3 billion, more than double $665 million a year earlier.

In the most recent quarter, the News Corp. segment responsible for MySpace lost $174 million, mostly due to lower search and advertising revenue. News Corp. reports fiscal first-quarter results on Nov. 1.

If the relaunch is successful, MySpace may still become the cultural powerhouse MTV was in the 1990s, when its decision to play a new music video could turn a band's fortunes overnight. Keeping with the age of the social Web, however, MySpace won't be the only one deciding what's cool. The site will also make its most loyal users the curators in a feature that's coming at a yet-unspecified date.

"The MTV influence is really obvious," Williamson said, adding that MySpace still has "pull with the audience it's trying to reach _ young people."

There are big cosmetic changes too. Long criticized for cluttered, clunky home pages, MySpace is streamlining its design. It will show fewer ads, but place them more prominently. It also will have far fewer buttons and page templates. In a presentation, the company called it "cleaning up MySpace e-waste."

"If we are refurbishing a house, it's starting from the ground up," Jones said of the eight-month redesign process.

MySpace has long fallen behind Facebook in user numbers and estimated advertising revenue, in part because it never appealed to older users. Its roughly 130 million users are mostly under 35, while Facebook's fastest-growing user base is those over 35. MySpace now says it's not trying to compete with social networks like Facebook.

"We're working on refocusing the company (and) narrowing down what our product does," Jones said.

Jones is the last of a three-person executive team that joined the company in April 2009. His former co-president Jason Hirschhorn, left in June and former CEO Owen Van Natta, once chief revenue officer of Facebook, left in February.

Big Guy Tom!!!  Santa and I have a beef with you!!!  Change is good but to much change gives one a headache. I loved MySpace but now I have a "Big Headache!!!"  Before, I got to play with MySpace and learn how to make it just the way I wanted it.  It was great and intuitive!!!  It WAS lots of fun and it WAS easy to do.  I made my site fun and lots of my Christmas friends loved it!!!  Now I'm confused.  It's lost it's originality.  It's lost it's flare. It's lost it's personality!!!  It's lost it's ability for me to interact with it.  It's lost it's ability to arrange photos and I bet a lot more.  It's starting to look like a generic Internet site.  I'm sad Tom.  :(

I loved MYSpace 1.0.  It was GREAT.  2.0 wasn't bad but it just didn't feel as good as 1.0.

I'll make you a deal Tom...I'm going to keep my MySpace account open.  All my Christmas guests will want to find me for this Christmas season.  (Hopefully I can attach my 2010 Christmas schedule to my profile page!!!)  But, if MySpace continues on this path of change which might lead to it's self destruction, I guess I'll join the masses and politely bow out and move to a site that better suits myself and my Internet Christmas friends.

I know MySpace was originally for new bands and to give people the opportunity to find new, indie music but it morphed into something totally different.  Those that found MySpace not for it's music but for it's Internet and social ability, grabbed it and turned it into something GREAT.  You should watch the loyal MySpace users and feed their desires of the "MySpace Culture."  Go back to Ver. 1.0, add to it some of the great upgrades from 2.0 and let the MySpace users weave MySpace back to what it was turning into to being...the great, coloful user friendly social site that it was.  Change the marketing to reflect it.  Show how MySpace is so much better than Facebook...it's colorful and the user can do anything to it.  Let the MySpace users weed out the dregs that infiltrate the site...just as they do in any other social network site.

For those that want a totally separate music MySpace site, give "MySpace" back the the social ones that love it for what it is and branch off a new Internet site called "MyMusic" or a title that fills the need of those that want a music site.  Branch off the games to another area. Or, come up with a title like "MySite."  

MySite could be the "Home Page."  All the other branches of "MY"  aka...MySpace. My Music, MyParty...etc...could be the jump off page for all the other "My" families.

It's slow and laggy, most of it doesn't work and it's vastly inferior to version 2.0 in almost every way. Where is the mail search feature?

The older myspace had a mail search function where you could search your mail with a keyword.

I used to check in on my myspace once a week or so, but this new layout, instead of bringing me back, is going to send me packing.  Where do I start?  It's sooo klunky and slow, and the picture viewing slide show thing totally sucks!  Now, ads pop up in front of buttons before I press them, and that is so uncool.  I think this may be the end of you myspace.

Myspace is now horrible. Since 2.0 I saw this crap coming.  Is not even fun to find old friends. A lot of crap in the background. Unlike Facebook, which is all organize and pretty. Myspace looks trashy and people don't even read message and those stupid videos. Really, look at FB. They got all organized and easy to manage.

The new myspace is awful.  It's like you've remodelled all the best features the site had and made them worse.  The photos page is appalling, which is a real pity, since one of the things I really liked about Myspace was finding new and interesting work by photographers and artists.  Now, I get a headache looking at the photos uploaded by others and when my existing friends upload new photos, there seems to be no way of seeing  that they've been added to an album, unless that overlong, cluttered stream has managed to hang on to the details (and you can be bothered watching it load).

It's awful.   Think again.  And trial the new site properly next time.

& for info, I think I actually prefer LinkedIn to Myspace now...

myspace is the slowest site I go to these days - if I didn't have a profile i'd NEVER come here - my guess is your losing advertising dollars because of it as well - who's going to click thru an ad if the site they're on takes 10 minutes to load ?

I have managed to hang on to my 1.0 for ALLLLL this time. And all I did was DELETE a code in my ABOUT ME SECTION....and EVERYTHING I had worked on for nearly 5 yrs now...was completely DELETED ! It lets you know that CSS is no longer ALLOWED. But its IRONIC...that it doesnt let you know that DELETING something you no longer WANT...screws your page up as well.  My Profile Page now looks like the OLD Default Page with all the Orange and Blue Links...and the old Blue boxes for interests , tv, movies etc etc. I am now FORCED...to upgrade if I don't want my page to have that OLD look. This is absolutely BULL@#!? and I consider it freakin ENTRAPMENT ! I have never been on FACEBOOK....as the  just the name gives me the CRINGES...[too many family , friends , and co-workers who I DON'T choose to spend my FREE TIME with as I see , speak , and hear them ENOUGH]...and I stayed put on Myspace. So for a your LOYAL Spacers...why don't you guys get it together and bring back the Old Stuff that made us like you more. You know what happened to MySpace? It used to be like that bar where all the cool cats hung out. Then someone decided that there should be more cats in there, not just the cool ones, so they gave it the lamest makeup possible so the lame cats could come too. But the lame cats were on Facebook in the first place and they're gonna stay there no matter what comes. And now the cool cats all go to Facebook too, even though they hate it, because, at least, it works.

As musicians, we use myspace as our main communication tool, to showcase our songs and photos and network with our audience and other bands. We request for a gig, venues listened to our songs in myspace, get the gig, find other bands to play with, announcing the gig through the gig guide then get comments about the gig and upload photos.

As an individual, myspace is a space to express myself using different backgrounds and other apps.

How could you take this away from us? It used to be our identity!

There must be some kind of conspiracy behind this. This new myspace-development team can't possibly be that retarded. Probably there is some kind of shorting/financial derivatives involved. Goldman Sachs, George Soros, Mark Zuckerberg? who knows. HEHE!

More seriously. I know I shouldn't be laughing, but I spent maybe something like 300 hours on tweaking my myspace-profile up to the individual layout it ended up to be. A bonus side effect was that I learned a lot about CSS-styling and HTML-coding in the process of just doing that, in contradition to sit staring at boring pictures on facebook. I hate fagbook and yesterday I deleted all my pictures there except my profile-pic! My mum added me there...Jesus! She's cool though. I deleted them due to the Goldman-investment in facebook recently.

However. If Tom is really smart, he would buy the entire myspace-networking-site back again now when Myspace currently is no longer worth a dump anymore, then shift back to the original Myspace v1.0. Then Myspace inevitably would become a vibrant and successful network again.

Looking forward to the Tom-Myspace reunion, so that Myspace can have the renaissance we're waiting for!!!

You fucking suck new myspace. If you read every commit you should have realize what people are saying. This is fucking bullshit. Developers are a bunch of losers, selfish, and self-centered people not admitting what they did was a mistake.

After several complaints, directly to the management I'm now leaving MySpace. Maybe to develope my own MySpace or hook up with something else. UBETUBE might be a place for me as a musician and artist instead of MySpace.

My only Social Network site has been changed to the negative consequences i feared the most. I will not leave here knowing the times will never return and be the same. This is rediculous now!!! The only thing keeping me on mySpace is that ability to display my bands music! We have almost 3k fans that all use to be online at some point or another. Now...out of 3k fans, only 28 show as being online. This new mySpace crap is just horrible!!! They dropped 85% of everything that made mySpace great! You know what mySpace, if you simply reverted to your old design and code, you would probably win back at least half of your old users. Let us arrange our friends and photos again, and let us truly design our own profiles again. That was why I used mySpace over facebook. Now, literally, the only thing I do here is send my band sites URL to venues I'm booking. Other then that, it may as well be dead to me. None of my friends are on here anymore, and I now have a conspiracy theory that somebody on mySpaces payroll is actually a mole for facebook whos primary goal is to make mySpace so misereable that everyone migrates to crappy facebook! If facebook allowed me to put my music up and design a profile page, I'd drop mySpace like a hot ****ing rock in a deep deep ocean!!!! ...n to think, I've been so loyal up till this point trying to keep all my friends here.

My Myspace page all messed up. It is too narrow and cuts off my information, pictures, my name and everything else in between. I don't like my page. It took me a long time to create it at first and later; I just added or changed a picture or two. The Preview Pane would come up and I could see if I liked my change or not and I could Save the changes that I had made. Now, I have no idea where or to change something with messing up my entire page. I was very proud of what I had done, because I basically taught myself how to do it in the first place. Now, it is so messed up, it would take a person Doctorate degree to fix it. I need a solution to this problem, because I very seldom log on, why? My page is a mess.

With the negative respones outweighing the good ones 100 to 1 you would think myspace would do something. New myspace is glitchy, minimal use of html and has me seriously recosidering every logging in again. The only response myspace has is, "it'll get better when people get used to it." I've already moved all my contacts to facebook, I liked myspace because it WASN'T facebook. Do something or dissappear myspace, it's your choice.

i hate the new myspace, when i "upgraded" to the new myspace my profile page changed, my tables are all different and my background disappeared, i was able to put my background back but with the new layout i cant see the picture and i cant change the layout of the tables like i could before so i can see it, i also cant embed videos anymore it just shows the code on my profile page now.

well after going through at least 20,000 friends and deleting all but a few...i finally left to Facebook. I was the last of my family to stick it out here...but no more.  All my kids and their friends my coworkers...nephews...cousins and even their kids...litterally everybody i know has gone to Facebook. Im sorry to Tom Anderson for the people ruining something that was once something really great...new...and refreshing. CEO's know nothing without listening to the customer. When i come back here....its depressing...lonely..and sad...everyone is gone... sorry Tom.. :(

This new myspace hasn't done anything good but causing me trouble. It's been a pain in the ass, I try to edit my info (bio,head line, sound like, influences,etc...) I click save and then go to my profile and nothing changes. How can I fix this?

Most of my friends have delete my space because of the new layout, the bands layouts are boring, my space load forever. On the old layout you was able to find stuff much faster, it sucks that only those who where clever enough to not upgrade have now still the 1.0 profile. Less creativity, to much commercial confusing layout. I never use my space anymore, maybe I should delete it too. For boring layouts we had already facebook right? Most bands I have in my list have now a white layout what shows how much they think it suck too that they dont create on their pages anymore. Congrats to developing it so much that people hate it now lol

Maybe, just maybe, you will one day recognize why Myspace lost 10 million users last month. Please notice the word "Users". Users are what made Myspace a success in the beginning and users are what you are losing because of your first statement in this blog. "We've just launched the new Myspace, designed to satisfy and showcase what we're all into". What YOU are into is NOT what the users are INTO. Since you changed to the "New Myspace almost all my friends have exited the site, period! I have been on Myspace since it was conceived and instead of adding things that the user wanted, you added what YOU wanted them to have based on the designers wants, needs and desires. Myspace was Number one because it was user friendly and geared towards a social network of friends and not towards a Music groups and the other "Suggested" hollywood star's profiles. It lost it's simplicity. Everyone (users) loved Myspace and a few users were starting to exit because Myspace needed to made some MINOR additions and changes to keep up with the changing social sites and remain Number 1. Instead, the users on myspace that make up the site and without them Myspace dies, their wants, needs and desires were totally and completely ignored. The result? The new myspace is a total flop. Users' are leaving by the millions, not because they want to, but because not all change is good as history has proven. The life blood of myspace is not the advertisers or the music groups, it's the users.

It was a simple fix for Myspace to remain competative with the other sites, by adding a chat section and maybe the addition of "stickers" on Yearbook because it can be done without leaving the site to be able to give them to someone.

Myspace will continue to die out and eventually be gone unless you wake up, get out of your minds that you know best for what the people want, and listen to the majority of the users. It obviously wasn't the "New Myspace", as your users keep falling off at 10 million members a month......"Give the people what they want and they will always come back". Go back to what made Myspace great in the beginning a simple user friendly social site. In other words...scrap the crap. Your music groups and your suggested movie stars sites will not save Myspace, but listening to the "users" and what they want will save it and word will spread that Mysapce is back the way everyone loved it before with only minor changes and additions have made it even better. I am a Business Major and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the New Myspace has failed miserably. When you finally face the facts and come back to reality, like Walmart has finally come to from their "Changes" they made, you still have the chance of returning to number one again. If you keep burying you head in the sand and ignoring the reality, Myspace will go the way of the cassette tape into obscurity. When you have a winning formula based on the consumer and not the advertisers, you try only to make it better for the majority, you don't scrap it and replace it by something not wanted by the majority of the users. You can set there and deny it that the New Myspace is the best, but the figures don't lie. You have to just look at the figures and finally admit that you were wrong before you can make it right again. Advertising and Music being sold doesn't so any good when there's nobody left there to hear it, view it or buy it.

Myspace's success was primarily based on the original people that became members of Myspace. This became the foundation of Myspace. From this foundation and word of mouth, it grew to be the number one social site. Myspace has now totally lost it's foundation and lost complete touch with these people. This foundation of users were not programmers and they were not interested in keeping up with the programming worlds concept of continual change. They had a site they could easily maneuver through and were quite familiar with. It's not what Myspace added that was the problem, it was it took away things that people wanted and it lost it's simplicity that they loved. The comments form the hundred or so that are above are a true representation of what the majority of people feel about the "New Myspace". Of course the silent majority don't say much they just leave and that's why myspace is only a shell of what it used to be. This is now April of 2011 and the figures tell the story of your New Myspace. you never took the time to realize that the users are average people, not high tech computer people. In the business world you must always consider "familiarity" with a product and the impact that the loss of this familiarity will bring, which obviously you did not do. You now see the results of your ill advised "Upgrades" that you forced on your Myspace users. They have all but left. The only friends I have left on here are those that stay because of the same reason I have stayed and that is because I have access to a game that I have played for years and years that is tied to my myspace account. I no longer communicate with anyone on here, period.

Now April and if you don't immediately forget about the "New Myspace", which is a proven economic failure and disaster, and covert back Myspace to the old proven format, myspace will be gone by years end completely. You think that what you read on this blog is only a few hundred people complaining, well look at your membership loss and you will see that these few are speaking for the majority that has left and the minority that is to follow them. Drastic times calls for drastic changes and so far you have not listened to the users, or what the statistics are and have been telling you since the inception of the "New Myspace". This needs to be run as a business and not run as a programmer's wish list. The business community is setting back and watching myspace self-destruct because it is no longer a place the average person wants to be. Why? Read all the comments above and you will understand why. Myspace Management should have listened to the users wants, needs and desires and not to the programmers who think myspace should be in ultra space. You forgot that the users are the bread an butter and the average user is not into ultra space advancements like programmers are obviously into and when the users wants are completely ignored, simplicity and familiarity by the users is lost, you will lose everything............everything is happening rapidly as I speak.

One last thing before I head over to Facebook and Yearbook.....Obviously the management at Myspace isn't as smart the management at Coke. When they changed and dropped the Original Coke, without asking what the people wanted, the backlash was immediately felt and recognized by the sales chart going down through the floor. Coke Classic came back to stay almost immediately. The rapid change made to the product, that the majority of people, almost cost Coke their livelihood. The same backlash hit Myspace, which was always considered as the Classic in the social networking world, but nobody has listened at Myspace and nobody apparently reads the red line going off the paper and now on the floor at Myspace either. Myspace needs to ask the Coke executives about forced changes being a good thing, even if you cannot read your own statistics or are incapable of understanding what they are truly saying to you.

Wow, have not been on here in months. Ever since they changed it. Still sucks!!!!!!!!! No one wants this crap! Too many damn adds! Who cares about the stupid games and music and twitter crap, and recommendations.  Our photos getting deleted for no reason. Comments disappearing. It's just a mess. I so agree with you all!!!!! The new myspace SUCKS!!!!!!!! it would be great to go back to the original format. I used to be on here 6, 7 times a day. Now I'm lucky if I get on once a month!

just about 98 percent of users have gone to facebook because its simple how myspace once was.. and everyone i know would come back to myspace if it would revert back.. all this streamlining does is make the computer hang up and go slower and thats with fast internet... no one really cares about all the artists and such.. if they did they would befriend them...  why cant the creaters see that.. we dont care about what all myspace can do.. we get on it to be nosy with our friends and its hard to do that if the stupid thing has too much going on where people jjust does not want to get on!!!

New Myspace Sucks and I am not interested in the forcefed 'options' or the newfangled graphics.. I would happily trade the ultrabright shlocky 'new' page for my old one!!! It makes me really sad because I really enjoyed MySpace and used it every day.  When they forced me to change my page to this new and in my opinion sucky stylized version, I was instantly put off.  I have tried to use it but I have gone on myspace about 10 times in the last 9 months.  NOT GOOD MYSPACE PEEPS.. I have never had the original myspace. But I do have the 3.0. Most users will probably disagree with me, but I think myspace either needs to go back to original which isn't going to happen or keep up with the other social sites. I find myspace very boring.  Most of the games don't work. ( Not the sort that i like anyway) and it's difficult to find anything that will work with it,. I am also on facebook  and compared to facebook, myspace has nothing to keep users interested.

This is sad, hate this new 3.0 profile.
