This is really getting to be a broken record. The cookie problem is still not fixed and doesn't seem like anyone cares to acknowledge that it worked and then got broken or to fix it other than to say rewrite my app.
Now on my other app (Treasure Hunt) that was working (because it doesn't use cookies) has now stopped working ...

For anyone who is interested and following this thread. mySpace has indicated there is some sort of bug with cookies and IE on mySpace (they work ok in Firefox apparently)

No you can only add content to the profile iframe box you have for your app if someone has it installed on their profile. You can't do anything outside that container as far as I know.

You don't need the .xml after the userid in there. You will only be able to get info on a user if they have installed your application. You can get a list of friends with
http://api.myspace.com/v1/users/user2_ID/friends
You would need to get the xml result to see if the data you want is in there.

I would think that if you sign up to be a developer that you automatically expect to get updates from myspace via email and especially if there is a major change being done. I would just make it a requirement of signing up. Maybe have a second option to opt in to promotional type emails being sent to developers and then those people ...

Maybe I am just old school but isn't email the best way to ensure that people are notified about something? Everyone has and uses email, not everyone uses an IM or reads blogs or goes to twitter or on here. Frankly I had not even heard of twitter until someone told me to check on myspace dev updates on there.
