    "is currently private"

I have added a couple of testers to my test app and all they see is that it "is currently private".  I added them to the tester group for the app...what gives?

anyone know how to make the app not private?

    thanks.

This has been discussed a couple of times in the past, and seems to be an ongoing issue.  I never found a solution to this problem, but through this forum I was able to find a "workaround".... Well, kinda.  Half of my BETA Testers get fed up with seeing that error everytime they are trying to use our app, so they just stopped BETA Testing.  Below is the temporary fix:

              a.   Copy the following URL into your web browser: http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user&appId=121623&appvers=dev
              b.   Follow the link, and then BOOKMARK it!  When visiting MySpace to demo the app, be sure you click on this link, after you have logged in to MySpace normally.  This will ensure that the app is always visible to you, even as a tester.
              c.   If, for any reason, you cannot install the app because of the “....... is currently private” message, then click and bookmark the above link before attempting to install.

Of course, I got tired of watching my BETA Testers leave, so I have started encouraging everyone to simply apply for Developer status.  In an apparent response to this issue, they have made it much easier to become accepted as a Developer (no more waiting for approval; instant e-mail verification).  Developers do NOT have the same problem that Testers do... Clearly a flaw in the MySpace Developers platform.
