Also the box shows to the left, not right, which is cutting off part of the picture.

There's not enough space for that image. You need to probably make it html so it can sized.

You can also get the width of the viewport and swap out images depending on the profile style

 430 px wide, isn't that the space allowed for a right hand profile surface?

Still not sure why it keeps going to the left.

 It seems there is something wrong outside of my code.  I tried to change it to use the exact image and code for the profile canvas as rebel seas, and it would not display that either.

I discovered part of the problem.  The working apps were set to use opensocial 0.7, the non working profile canvases were using 0.8

This still does not explain why or how the profile boxes end up in the left hand collumn instead of the right hand side where they are supposed to.

Are you on profile 2.0?

 I am using profile 2.0 on my personal page.  So are many of our players.

When you look at your UHP - (User Home Page) Apps are always on the right.

When you look at a profile surface: with 1.0 you, as a developer can indicate where you prefer the app box to be located (left or right) 

However, 

In profile 2.0 - Members can choose to put it ANYWHERE on the profile they like.
