I am wondering, if the getMsg function is implemented, I only get empty strings...

 Sorry, at this point, getMsg() is not supported.  You would need to use getLang and getCountry to do your own localizations for now.

 Support should be coming soon, as part of OpenSocial 0.8 compliance.
