    Release Notes - Upcoming changes

It says as an upcoming change:

"The app gallery link will navigate to the canvas page of the app (if there is one). "

    Why?

    Please explain more.

My apps would show an ugly error message plus an install button link if they don't have it installed which won't look good.

Flash apps cannot tell if there is an error at myspace or if the user does not have it installed so as to just jump to the apps profile?

Please leave the link to the apps profile

    Concerned

I'd also like to know more about this.

My app will show up fine on the canvas but will present a user with a link to ad the app. They will then have to go to the app profile to install anyway right? Can we have an install button/function available to use on the canvas page?

Can we know the timeframe on this so we have a chance to check functionality when it's released?

This feature is very important .. as this will define what kind of conversion rates apps get. So, I think the MDP team should explain this upcoming feature and let app-developers highlight any possible problems with that. Is this an attempt to provide a kind of a 'preview' page for the app? What kind of benefits does the MDP see in taking the user directly to the canvas page? What will be the use-case for the app-profile page then?

I'll get someone over here with more details after the weekend.

At least you won't be surprised though :) baby steps!

Yeah, the whole "Release Notes" thing is a good idea. Maybe they can just explain the reasoning and the exact feature in a Release Note itself.

We just started doing this, obviously this is new and of course we're open to suggestions on how to make the notes more comprehensive.
