User Agent - REST API - Messaging

Can anybody from MDP guys can tell us when the messaging REST API is being opened up? 1. For the people who are using REST API from the flex apps, unable to store app data as PUT request cannot be made from flex (without server side proxying). Is MySpace providing any alternate way to do this? 2. What is the makeRequest() equivalent of REST API (User agent)? 3. When do you open up messaging API? 4. Are there any plans to document User Agent - REST API end points? I hope MySpace guys have some time to address these issues. Thanks in advance.

Messaging will be available soon and I'm sorry I don't have an ETA.  No, there There is no alternative way to do this, and anyone who uses an alternative method runs the risk of getting their app suspened.  I can send in the rest of your post as suggestions.

Thanks! .. and I promise to keep updating.

In the grand scheme of things, we want your apps to work. We are BETA. We plan to work out all the details on this and that at a time when our beta and more important show stopper issues are fixed.

I know it's a pain, and I feel for you all.  But we are BETA and we want things to go perfectly in the future.. all checks and balances in place.

Our devs are working overtime to make this happen.

Messaging, while is nice, is not a show stopper right now.

Let me find out. I prob won't be able to get back here until later though. I have a feeling the answer is gonna be NO ETA because I think I'd of heard it if it was coming soon.

Have you read Kyle's blog post?

      http://developer.myspace.com/Community/blogs/devteam/archive/2008/05/20/new-app-guidelines-must-read.aspx

"Finally, I'm pleased to give you all a heads-up that we will be enhancing our messaging APIs in June with the release of our Applications Communication Channel. "ACC" as we call it is a brand-new messaging service built specifically for apps that will enable custom app invites and notifications. More on that soon!"

Hi Rhonda, Can you help me in restoring my developer account (mypartypoker@ivycomptech.com). Just now, I found that my account has got deleted and my application has also been put under maintenance. I have no way to update my application now. Can you please help in getting this issue rectified?

    Rondata,

Does this mean that the Applications Communication Channel will include RESTful messaging? The few mentions of ACC coming in June haven't mentioned anything specifically about REST and I know a lot of us are really waiting to get RESTful messaging into our applications so that they can finally have some viral aspects. Thank you, in advance.

Kyle has posted some more details about ACC (read) but did not mention anything about this functionality being available through the REST api. There is still no way at all to communicate with users and let people share things with their friends from our applications over the REST api.

This coupled with the fact that the App Gallery's default sort has been changed to 'recently popular' which only allows for the 1000 most popular applications across all categories (ie: when you go into the video category, the default sort shows that there are only 139 applications when in reality there are 450 applications in the video category [choose a different sort], you can look here for more information) makes it almost impossible for our applications to be viral.
