profile surface dimensions

I'm not sure the best place to post this, so I will try here.

The profile surface has dimension options, except these are not always the size of the spaces available on people's profiles.

I'd like to dynamicly resize our boxes according to the space available. Suggestions? Directions?

oauth_problem=signature_invalid

I keep getting : "oauth_problem=signature_invalid" and can't work out why. My oauth code works with twitter and blogger so why is it failing here? My signature base is :

Iframe height

Hi,

I am trying to add a external Iframe as an app but when I view it on my profile page the height of the containing Iframe is always set to 190 regardless of what I enter in the height field of the canvas surface in the app's settings.

I am new to myspace but this seems to be an issue that has cropped up a lot.

Is this a bug or does that height field mean something different?

Problem with Friend Picker

I'm having a minor issue trying to use friend picker. I'm using OS 0.8 on my app and found the code for a "text-only" friend picker for OS 0.7. I'll show you my code, but I assume the problem here is that a text-only friend picker just isn't possible in 0.8?

Testers can't access app

I added 2 testers for my App. When they try the app (via the Add this App button) they get this message, "This Page Certified Meth-Free is currently private." They can add the app, but it shows the same message. It's a very simple app.

Am I missing something here? Shouldn't the testers be able to see the app?

I have a dev account and a personal account and I added myself (the personal account) as a tester and its telling me the app is currently private...what gives?

Am I doing something wrong? Must that account be a dev account too?

Callback after OAuth authorization not working

I am developing an app that uses OAuth authorization to get access to the Myspace API.

I have now switched from calling the app from our development server, to calling it from the production server. While I was calling from the development server, the callback worked correctly. After the user had signed in, they were returned to the correct page on the development server.

Here's what the call looks like:

(I've elided the oauth_token value to save space).

Since I switched to making the call from the production server - which is located in a different domain - the callback no longer works. The Myspace authorization page does not display any error, but simply reloads.

I assumed that this was because I had the wrong domain set in the "External Site Settings" part of the application specification (our development and production servers are in different domains). I corrected this, but the problem continues.

Does it take a certain amount of time for Myspace to register that the External Site Settings have changed? Or is it being held up because I've just changed the status from Development to Published, and it's still marked as Pending?

Receiving this error from myspace app submission email: "Loading Issue – All app surfaces must properly load. Loading issues are found on the following surface(s). On canvas, contains no functionality or service for the user, fails to load. Please read the Terms of Use and Application Guidelines. App Status: Development" I created a simple iframe to add a Google Slideshow and a Facebook Fan Page widgets on the Profile Surface area only. What do I need to do in order for my apps to get accepted? Any help is appreciated

Hi All,

Trying to make a call to my app hosted in an external iframe. When I first load the app, it works fine. However, when I try to update div on my page, I do a makerequest like so:

        myParams = {};

With IE6, I get the popup error window that says object is expected.

In every case, using firefox 3.0.1, I get the following exception:

How do I Add Testers for an Adobe AIR app In Development Status?

Would you please provide clear, step-by-step instructions on how to add both developers and testers to an Adobe AIR app currently in development? It also would be nice if these instructions are added as content in the "Permissions" page (displayed when clicking "Developers & Testers" in the "My Applications" page in the MySpace Open Platform site, so developers don't have to ask about this in the forum.

Also, it's not clear to me what the following sentences mean:

"For tester's, please provide them these links to the surface(s). (Developer's can use the links too!)"

What do the words "these links" refer to? And what does the phrase "provide them these links" mean?

Passing parameters to silverlight object when needed

I'm trying to pass parameters to an object tag for running silverlight.

I can't use initparams because i first need to get values returned by an opensocial data request.

I was unable to use silverlight bridging (it didn't work).

So at least I tried to create a cookie but I wasn't able to use document.cookie too...

I accept any working solution.

scripting is not allowed error

In local all works fine but when i upload the xap of example program like 'me' or 'friends' I'got an error sayng scripting is not allowed and the program dosn't work.

Any guess?

External Application: Invalid Digital Signature

I'm once again working on attempting to get external application authentication to work. When I request a access token, I'm getting a error response from the server:

Here is a breakdown of what I have researched on this:

(1) The request token I get back from "request_token" is URL encoded. I have tried with and without decoding this parameter with the same results. I imagine this matters, so which should I be using?

(2) When I visit the authorize URL, I login but then get a 404: "404 - Bad Request - ApplicationDomain or Callback Uri not set.". I have tried setting my callback URI, domain, etc. in my applications settings to exactly what I'm putting in the oauth_callback field with no luck. Would failing this step give me the 401 error later on in access_token?

(3) Feeding the request token, nonce, timestamp, etc. into the OAuth tool gives me the exact same digital signature as the one I'm generating as well as the URL. However, if I use the "Generate URI and Submit" option, I get the same 401 described above -- could this be due to the #2?

and it will obtain the first 20 friends, but if I put on the end of my string " &oauth_version=1.0&page=1&page_size=10" it just comes up error 401 ? I've tried various orders, even just using "page=1" on its on in various places, no matter what I do it fails, why ?!

Looking for Help - PHP and iFrame

I've been working on a game that currently has a standalone interface, and a Facebook interface. I'm looking to add some MySpace functionality, but I'm currently at a loss in terms of how to pull information from MySpace into my game.

I'm using PHP, and the entire game is using the external iFrame. As of right now, I'm just looking at 2 basic ways to tie into MySpace:

1) Automatically use your MySpace account as your game account. I know when the iFrame loads it sends a viewerId which is their MySpace ID. How do I verify that this is actually them, and not somebody who simply appended someone else's ID to the $_GET variable?

2) Obtain a list of the MySpace User ID's of their friends. I would like to pull that information so I can run it against the MySQL database so players can see which of their friends are already playing.

While I'm sure these have probably been asked before, I'm finding the Developer FAQ and documentation to be very sparse, especially when it comes to the external iFrame for apps. The reason I've picked that method is I'm using one core site to function for all 3 access methods, and they all share the same world, so I'm not making a separate version of the game for each social network, just using conditional statements to add in/access features specific to a network.

Hello,

I build a little Iframe app and because it was my first app i missed that there were 3 surfaces. After my App has become live I wondered why it is not on my profile before I realised that there are 3 Views/surfaces. Now i want to delete the canvas surface and use it as the Profile surface,
but if I click on "Dev App" to test it there is nothing.

Now I don´t if it is because it is a bug or is it because there are no iframes allowed on the Profile surface. Or do i need a special startscript to put it in?

How long does this take ? I am stuck waiting for it to be allowed, however im not sure whats going on as the app is only a "permission link" to myspace data, so its not even a app... still confused over it all!

I updated my app on all 3 surfaces and none of them are displayed. When I look at my browser activity log I get this error: http://cache01-widget01.myspacecdn.com/3/l_725729ec2e044fd19a9785032e3028f1.swf Internal server error It is a flash app and I tried dumbing the code down to just a simple display but that didn't help either. Any advice? Thanks!

Hello, I have some javascript code that needs a &nbps; to stay as is in the source code for compatibility reasons. It seems to stick when I submit the source, but the next time I go to edit that source, it gets converted into an actual space.

This causes problems if I edit it directly or copy it out to a text editor then copy it back in.

Im new to this reading thought he forum is just returning broken links and more confusion :-(

All I want to do is obtain my friends list like it shows here..
