Where is the support for developers?

It was bad enough that Rhonda was overloaded trying to handle all the requests by developers. Now that you have let her go, developers have no way to contact MySpace? Why is there no support ticket system? Why is there no contact email? Basically News Corp, you shot yourself in the foot by removing the liaison between you and the programmers out there who make applications for your platform.

I'm sorry, I know it's rough right now as I understand it, myspace is going through changes. I hope soon, that you guys will have the support you need. I'm always rooting for ya'll :)

Wait... WHAT?  My development team was frustrated at the response times, in the past, due to the relatively low number of personnel assigned to the Developers Platform....  We knew that the staff was overwhelmed, but now they are cutting their staff?  Strange move, if you ask me.

Re: Where is the support for developers?

Just curious, but who are the "actual MySpace employees" who are on these forums?  Are there any?  Is anybody responsible for answering questions, interacting with developers, clarifying issues, etc?  I ask, mainly because I honestly can't figure it out.  Rondata has been around for awhile, obviously, but she is only one person; it is impossible to get timely responses to anything, around here.  I know it is an ongoing complaint that others have addressed, in the past, but it almost seems like we are wasting our time participating in these forums.

I am a member / moderator of several other forums in several different industries, and I know how hard it can be to try and start, then SUSTAIN an active user base on any forum; thus far, in the several months I have been around here, I am not finding much reason to continue to come back here.   Typically, where the moderation team is lacking, the community often picks up the torch and help each other.  However, due to the proprietary nature of this platform, as well as the relative newness of it all, there is only so much help that we can offer each other; we rely on the MySpace Dev Team to help us out when we get stuck.

It is entirely possible that I am missing the point of these forums; perhaps they are not "support" forums, after all?  If that is the case, can someone please direct me to an e-mail address, phone number or physical address, where I can find some live people (who are actually involved in the rule making, who have access to answers)?  That'd be great!  If there ARE plans to make this forum an active community, with active developer support from the MySpace team, then it might be worth it for us developers to stick around.  Otherwise, it just seems like we're talking to hear our own echoes, and confirming each others' redundant gripes.

     WHO STILL WORKS FOR MYSPACE???

Ok, so I've been perusing these forums for clues, and I am surprised that I am actually finding threads with RECENT responses from active MDP personnnel....  As a result, I decided to list the names of those support personnel, here, to try and clarify who is actually still around here to help us.  If someone I list is no longer employed by MS, please let me know!  If I miss anybody, feel free to add them, here:

    - Jorge Reyes - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=345900341

    - Donny Mack (DM) - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=20599042

    - Jalen - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=360193357

    - HKS - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=152017571

    - Brandon Black - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=81472123

    ........... ???

(interestingly, if you click on the MDP banner below any of these guys' user names in an actual thread, it takes you to a long list of names - http://developer.myspace.com/Community/user/Members.aspx?search=1&r=d02d3fb1-b0ff-4809-ae65-fde2fe097112 - about 54 or so - many or all of whom appear to be MySpace employees.... I doubt they are all support, but they all seem to be listed as part of the MDP "Team")

From what I can gather, there are NO dev team members, committed to assisting us developers here in the forums.  The ones who do, apparently do it on a "volunteer" basis, so we can't expect anything from them.....  Subsequently, we should not expect much from the platform.  Its sad; this thing had a lot of potential.

Re: Where is the support for developers?

When I upload an update to my myspace application on all 3 surfaces (iframe), the app no longer loads anymore. I get this error from my browser debugger: 500: Internal Server Error, when trying to load the swf file: http://cache01-widget01.myspacecdn.com/3/l_2150eca0ff7048f9b2e4d032ca331344.swf None of my testers can see the app either. I have uploaded repeatedly on all 3 surfaces and I get the same error. I commented all of my code out down to just generating the shell window and still no success. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Iframe can only be used on Canvas. It won't work on home or profile (last I knew, unless they changed anything)

Oops, wherever you see iframe, replace that for inline flash. Sorry I was looking into iframes after I couldn't get my app to work like it normally did with inline flash.
