Haven't heard anything on this, thought I would clarify a bit.
My site uses Myspace (and other providers) as a login mechanism, as well as pulls the user activity stream for display. Eventually it will be able to post to Myspace for status updates, and later more.
During the beta, I'll have a system in place where when a user logs in, they will be prompted for a beta key. When they supply the beta key they will then have access to the site, if they do not, then they will only be prompted to input a key. Keys are generated by me and supplied to the testers. To be clear, this is a MyspaceID site, and not an application within Myspace at all.
I'd like users to be able to login and use the Myspace functionality without having to be flagged as developers/testers, as I'd like to test the full functionality of the application and not create the extra step of setting up a relationship on Myspace.
When I'm ready to publish the application, I can provide Myspace with a beta key or keys so they can access the application and test it in it's entirety. That's not a problem. I actually think you all will really like the functionality my site provides and will be a benefit to Myspace. I've already had one friend who rarely uses Myspace anymore remark that she thinks she will use Myspace more once the application is live, as it will be easier for her to do so.
