    Publishing DA apps

Our Data Availability app (400184233) got rejected for:

"User Experience / Functionality [loading issues] Application contains no functionality."

I assume the reviewer missed the fact that this is a DA app, not an installable one.

Otherwise, what functionality is expected from a DA app?

This issue prevents us from launching our DA-enabled site.

    Thanks,

Raviv Pavel, VP of R&D, Gigya.com

hi raviv, the application shouldn't need to go through our approval process if it has been correctly identified in the "build" section as an external app, and that the url's provided are correct.

Not sure what you mean by "build" section, but I marked the application as not installable and entered our external domain and external URL.

Still, its seems that only users who are registered as developers are able to use it.

    Re: Publishing DA apps

Also, although you say "the application shouldn't need to go through our approval process", another MDP team member said

"Only live website/app will have their callback_url forwarded. For developers of the app, the callback_url will also work."

which is exactly what we're experiencing: users who are not developers of the app do not get redirected properly after login.

So, do we need to publish our application for it to work?

If no, why isn't it redirecting to our callback URL after login?

if yes, why do you reject our app for "not having content"?

    Thanks,

    Raviv

    Re: Publishing DA apps

When uncheck app as installable and save. It gets checked automatically when u come back to edit app details page.

May be that's why we are not able to create external apps.

And yes only developer account can login to external app for now.

Can you be more specific on this?  There is no chance to use app in development mode, because it requires every user to be added as developer then.  And there is a problem that Installable check box doesn't stay off, every time I uncheck it it gets back.

    regarding raviv's post above:

he is correct, but the point is that external apps don't go through the same review process as apps for our internal opensocial container.  what kind of app are you developing?

also, does your external domain match what is in the callback parameter?

the app does need to be published to work.

    Re: Publishing DA apps

As I said in my first post, we are building an external app and got rejected for not having any content.

I think we got reviewed as regular app - many develoeprs already reported a bug in the "App Details" form, where the "installable" checkbox is not saved, causing reviewers to think it a regular app.

Yes we double checked that the external domain match the callback parameter.

Please fix this so we can publish and launch.

    Thanks.

    Re: Publishing DA apps

     I'm sorry but it's not.

Unchecking the "Installable" checkbox, saving the app - Installable is checked again.

Please fix it, it's really holding us back from going forward with the DA thing.

    Re: Publishing DA apps

The "installable" checkbox finally works but still no go.

When publishing the app I get "Failed to Publish application. Unexpected error: NoPanelsDefined"  :(

    Anyone else get this?

I have the same problem - I can check off the Installable box - but I still receive No Panels Defined.
