    Denied again reasons not valid

Okay, now this is just getting plain annoying. I have had my app denied about 4 or 5 times now and it's honestly starting to get ridiculous

First its the height, something that was a UI error of keeping it at 20. So I waited and when it finally kept it at right height I re-submitted.

Then they told me the app was adult in nature and needed to enable the 18+ option. I did that and re-submitted.

Then it was again denied, said not only do they want it enabled for 18+ but it has to clearly say that in the gallery description. Something that could've also been mentioned to me in the very first denial you would think. So since the gallery description only allows very little text, that is basically all that went into my description.

Re-submitted again. Again denied because it doesn't show on the canvas or the profile page. It clearly shows on the canvas and the profile page.

My point here is this. I understand we do things wrong, make mistakes , but why not give all the reasons in the original denial for the app. Not let me re-submit and then give me another reason. It is not only frustrating to the developers but it is creating more work for those reviewing the  apps. You're having multiple re-submits of one app when in fact you could save all this trouble if the reasons were all given in the first denial.

If my app didn't show on the profile page (which is does) then why was that never mentioned in the frst few denials?

I'm sorry but this is just plain frustrating

    App link is http://www.myspace.com/377818510

As you can see it properly loads on profile and canvas, unless it's only loading for me. I'm using IE.

The app clearly states it's for over 18 in checkbox and description. The height and width are to specs.

Please tell me what to do next, as I can't fix something that works for me.

Re: Denied again reasons not valid

So I can't personally speak with any authority about the issue with your profile and canvas surfaces. I don't really know what they are looking for there and I am not a part of the team that processes app submissions.

But you may also want to look at this thread: http://developer.myspace.com/Community/forums/p/2110/9672.aspx

Apparently, for the time being we are requiring adult only apps to prompt for age verification as well. So you may want to add that so you don't get deinied again for that reason.

I do know from my own experience in trying to get an app approved that it can be difficult and frustrating and I think it would help if the team responsible for that left a bit more detail in their feedback messages. We can definately make that suggestion to them but I think a lot of it comes from the fact that they are reviewing tons of apps and their changes every day. I am sure it's hard for them go into a lot of detail about every issue but we as an organization should try better.

One other thing you should do is make sure you test your app on all surfaces in several different browsers. At least the big three: FireFox, IE, and Opera. I had an issue with one of my apps where it kept getting denied because of a styling issue that was only in FireFox and that was what they were reviewing my app in. It was something I should have done anyway, but it definately added to the confusion when I neglected to do my due diligence before submitting my app.

     Good luck.

Re: Denied again reasons not valid

Thanks for the reply Brandon. I do understand that they are going through many apps a day, and most likely the same person isn't looking at the same app over and over. I believe this is where the different reasons each time come from. I can only do the prompt and put the age limit in the description as it is a flash file app. Once I did that they came back saying nothing about that, and that it didn't appear on the canvas and profile page. It must be because I'm using IE and they are viewing with something other like FireFox.

A suggestion on my end would be to allow a text message from the developer to be submitted with each application submission. So if I re-submit after a denial I can add a message maybe asking questions or letting them know exactly what I did in order to re-submit. That would let both ends (developer/reviewer) know exactly what has been done and allow for more communication. Just a suggestion, but one I think would greatly benefit in the long run.

I agree. I think it would be extremely helpful if there was a back and forth history/dialog between the approval team and the developer as part of the submission process. Right now, it's just a one sided conversation and when there is an issue or it's unclear what the issue is... there's no one to ask questions or talk to about it except here in the forum.

I can't make any promises, but I will make that recommendation. We have a long list of things to do with the platform but I think streamlining the approval process would be extremely helpful to everyone.

Bare with us... we are constantly trying to make the platform and the experience of our developers and our users better.

Re: Denied again reasons not valid

Well, submitted it again last night. I made no changes as I know it was working fine. Got denied again. This time they said it works perfectly fine......nothing wrong with it. But because it is of adult nature I have to make sure the user accepts that they are over 18. I have put it in the description and enabled the dropdown of 18+. This is a flash app so I can do no more. You can't add this function to a flash app.

So this tells me if you have a flash app that requires age verification, it will never be approved. Not to metion I totally disagree with this being an adult app. It's Jessica Alba in swimsuits, lol. This app is not considered to be of adult content at Facebook or at Bebo.

So I guess I delete this app, because according to MySpace it cannot be approved for something that is out of my control.
