CAPTCHA on developer platform is looping... :( (FF & IE)

    Hi everyone,

so I'm desperate to try and test my app on myspace as well.

However whenever I try to start Building an APP (via Build > ToS) I get the Captcha, which , I fill out right every time, nevertheless a fresh image shows up everytime and after 2-3 times I get an IP ban.

I tried to send / submit a new developer access request, via the form, and it gave me a Captcha too. If I fill the correct string it just gives me another new captcha back, however if I fill in a wrong string, it gives me the expected error message. Thank you in advance for looking into this!

    all best, greetings from amsterdam,
    Roeland

For what it's worth this has happened to me too for 2 apps now. TOtally random. I just refresh and eventually it works.

Yeah, I've hit a problem with Captcha while editting my profile and sending messages as well, so it's not a developer-site specific problem, but a global MySpace problem with the CAPTCHA simply resetting instead of verifying. I sent it up through the MySpace Technical Help; not sure if there's anything else to do.

Like Mark, if I see this problem now, I just refresh a couple of times. If it doesn't go away immediately, I walk away and let it sit for about five minutes. Then it works fine.

Hrmm.. There's actually a few funky little things going on with the site this AM.  I'll try to poke around and see if anything is going on. Thanks

Also: Note to all, if you are getting that error page, please post the URL with your post.  It provides clues :)

RE error page, do you mean this error  when trying to get to developer pages ...

When in FF/IE6 and logged in to myspace, try to go to developer.myspace.com yields the error. To overcome this I have to close the browser, then start over again.

Sorry! an unexpected error has occurred.

This error has been forwarded to MySpace's technical group.

    Yes Mark,

    But that's a known issue.

You can just go to developer.myspace.com/community and you should be able to get here bypassing the redirection of dev home.

This is, unfortunately, a minor coding error in the CAPTCHA ui implementation.  If you press the [Enter] key the proper back-end events won't fire, so even if you enter the correct information CAPTCHA will continue to show.

You must click the Next button in order for the CAPTCHA response to be correctly processed.
