    IFrame

    Hi,

     Is it possible to include and iframe in the response html returned by a makeRequest on the canvas surface?

    Thanks,

    Matt

    In addition, any portion of your MySpace Applications and MySpace Application Content that will appear on a MySpace Profile must not:

    • contain or create IFRAMEs;
    • cause their containing IFRAME to be navigated to new location, for example, by using JavaScript code, form posts, or containing links;
    • contain or create SCRIPT tags pointing to external sources except those that are explicitly allowed; and
    • may not contain or create links to external CSS style sheets.

    :(

    Re: IFrame

    That's what prompted my question but that blurb does call out MySpace Profile. I'm wondering if there are known or planned limitations to IFrames on the canvas and then what about the home surface.

    I believe that this applies to the Homepage Module and the Profile Module, not the canvas page - or at least I hope it does, otherwise we will stop porting our apps to myspace as the html/js interface is far too limiting for complex applications.

    wait, What?  no script tags?  To me that means we can't use JS libraries without including them inline, which is absolutely ridiculous.  no style sheets?  what in the world could possibly be a valid reason for that?  Can someone from myspace please explain the reasoning behind these restrictions?

    i think FB doesn't allow script or iframe tags, they make you use little facebook helper tags. this prevents people from doing nasty stuff. I'm anxious to find out what the myspace/opensocial equivalents to these will be.

     Here's what StephanieBamBam of the MySpace Team just messaged me:

     We're still hammering out the security issues involved in using [[[iframe]]]s on canvas pages. TOTALLY understand how urgent it is to everyone, and in my opinion, anyway, it's just a mater of time until we're offering it (hopefully sooner rather than later).

    We just have some (understandably) paranoid folks we need to finish convincing first :)

    Any word on iframes in canvas. Some things we want to do would require them.

     I'm guessing not - I just tried to put iframe code in and it just prints the code out instead of displaying my page.

    Re: IFrame

     How do you insert the code for iframe then?  I do it, and the code itself shows up with [[[iframe]]] around it...
