    Publish Changes?

What does Publish Changes do?  My app is already live.  If I edit the source code, do I need to republish?  Will this knock my app back into development mode?  Thanks!

Yes, if you want those changes to go live :)

Your changes will go live but it also triggers our reviewers to check it out again.

I was wondering about this too. For example, I had to comment out gadgets.window.adjustHeight in all my apps since that is not working at the moment. I hope everyone will get the new code right away. When it's fixed, I will need to put it back.

So the changes will go live right away? Is this correct? I certainly hope so. My apps (well, one app at the moment) sometimes need bug fixes due to stupid little mistakes, and I'd hate for users to have to wait several days to actually get the bug fixes.

Also, right now, I clicked the "Publish Changes" button, and now it shows the message "Your changes have been submitted for approval." What if I make more changes today? The button is no longer there, so how do I publish my new changes?

Yes changes go live.  No, I am not sure that you can make additional changes once in PUBLISH as the unpublish button is in a bug fix right now.

Alright... So what happens if I make changes to the source right now? Will those changes be lost?

Also, what happens if a change was made (accidentally) that violates the application guidelines? Will the app be reverted back to an older edition? Will it be disabled completely?

re: additional changes to the source when your app is pending review, I am not sure I'll need to find out.

re: the violation of the guidelines - once the reviewers catch it, your app will be suspened and turned back over to you to be fixed. Actually I don't think we suspend anymore.. I think it's just turned back to dev with a rejection letter and required changes.

When you update the code, you're updating the version that we have, so no - we won't put the old version back.  If you wanted the old copy back, you'd have to remove the changes and resubmit. :)

    Re: Publish Changes?

So, currently, I could have an approved app, make a change, and have rejected.  This will cause the app to be suspended, until I fix it?  What is the turnaround on the re-approval process?  Currently, I have several apps that I resubmitted for approval, and all have shown "Your changes have been submitted for approval." for the past few days.  If the app is suspended, will it take several days for it to be re-approved, as I go through the publish changes procedure?  And, what does suspended mean?  WIll existing users still be able to use the application?  Will it simply be removed from the application directory, and that's it?  Will it still appear on profiles for users that have already installed?

Thanks!  Just a lot of questions raised!

You should get feedback before 72 hours. If not there's a flag. Please let me know.

I don't think we suspend. If there's a prob you go back to DEV

Haven't heard anything via the pm channel.  To post it here, the App Ids I'm concerned with are:

    103699

    102339

    104526

    Thanks!

As stated in the FAQ PM does not work in these forums. You need to msg me on myspace :)

    As for the app ID's

I personally need links to the apps. Johnny@myspace is our app specialist, and can probably give you better feedback directly with APP IDs on why you are still pending.

    Re: Publish Changes?

    Rhonda,

I tried to send you a myspace message, but it failed, saying I had to friend you first (which I did).

In the meantime, here are the links to the application profiles:

    http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=354042922
    http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=339583913
    http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=357708072

What is the difference between appid and friendid?  I see both, depending on the link - not sure how they fit together.  Thanks!

     Hi Neil

Are these apps pending? or are you no longer connected to them?
