setting photo permissions

My apps are Flash so don't know about other types but

Using Firefox I added the app from the canvas - at some point I check permissions for private photos but the box that comes up is the add app box is not the photo permissions one...it's the add app one.... if I refresh then the photo permissions box comes up OK.

Also when using IE the call back to Flash doesn't work (gets a runtime error) I've put a work around in but not the best for an IE user - callback works fine in other browsers.

App is http://apps.myspace.com/adventcalendar - click the colored ball top right to customise then 'background' drop down menu to 'get myspace photo' then providing private photos not set - 'yes' to set

These api calls return empty lists when the albums are not open to the public for the current user. Is there a way to allow the application to access non-public albums of the current authorized user?

These work fine for me with the creator profile of the game, but seeing the game is still private I have made numerous accounts to test this, I cannot even see the game or goto the game on another account, So im not sure how I can even program this to work If no other accounts can even see it?

The main account like I said shows it perfectly along with all the unique content. Every other profile only shows private. So how am I able to do this if its private and unviewable.

Something is obviously different for the admins of myspace to view it and show it incorrectly. And as for as I can tell its impossible to edit this until the game is no longer private.

I have developed an application with 5 games inbuild in an iframe in canvas, which loads properly, double checked with IE 8 and Firefox on two different PC.

Still I get this message from staff:

Loading Issue – All app surfaces must properly load. Loading issues are found on the following surface(s). On canvas, contains no functionality or service for the user, fails to load. Please read the Terms of Use and Application Guidelines.

Please provide more details on this and what should I do?

got http code 201 but received nothing even in notification box

hello everyone, I am totally confused about the api call bellow.

I have built a myspaceid application and now

I want to send message through my site on behalf of myspace users with

http://api.myspace.com/v1/applications/123XXX/notifications

and I got http code 201 which means "Created" according to official document, I try and try and try,

but received nothing in my friends' notification box or their homepage.

why??? Is there anyone who can help me?

Today I found a message about myspaceid as bellow

[Publish notifications from your Web site to MySpace (coming soon)]

does it means that I can not send notifications with a myspaceid application?

Is there anyone from myspaceid development team who can tell me when can I use this function on my website?

It seems that the api call [http://api.myspace.com/v1/applications/123XXX/notifications] is for MySpaceApp not for

MySpaceID. Is there anything wrong with my understanding?

A few months back I developed a C++/wxWidgets library for accessing MySpace REST. I'm now back on the project and am having issues authenticating via OAuth. The first thing I had to do is create a new API key (MySpaceID) as the old one apparently got converted into the wrong type. Everything now works as expected until I try to exchange my token with /access_token. When doing so, I get this response:

oauth_problem=signature_invalid

Now, here is the confusing part:

Using the online OAuth tool, I can enter the same input variables (nonce, timestamp, token, ...) and generate a query string: It is 100% identical to the one I am sending; If I then use the "Generate URI and Submit" option, I get the expected response: A authenticated token. However, the exact same URL sent from my client gets the above error back from the server.

To re-iterate:

My GET URL is 100% identical to that generated by the online OAuth tool
Using said URL, my client gets "oauth_problem=signature_invalid" as a response; The online OAuth tool gets the expected results (an authenticated token)

Is there something I'm missing here? Do I need to send additional data in the HTTP headers? Please help!

I have been trying to get my app approved many many times,the one reason it is not approved is the home/profile frames of the game showing the app is private. I feel that I have no way of controlling this as my developer page show unique content and i feel that once the game is public that this will work for everyone.

also i have been getting what i believe to be ludicrous feedback from the approval process always different, Example - on the last denial i was told that the back button doesn't work- there are many games on myspace where there is just a canvas you control by its self meaning. , 2- says that you have to update firefox for a better myspace experience- (not our problem) but it comes up as a reason for denial.

I am beginning to feel like there is no consistency or rhyme or reason to this approval process i am getting weary and my partners are about ready to drop a great and powerful project.

we have considered starting from scratch. i need legitimate help - this forum has been very weak its like a car forum where you post "my car overheats" and you get the response "sounds like your car over heats"... the response i need is one that resolves my problems---

App rejected for requiring a download

I have made several apps and never once have I complained about a rejection, i have always just fixed it and resubmitted. But I have to say something this time.

My app was denied because there was a link that gave users to option to download an archive of their messages if they wanted. The app was denied on the grounds that it required a download.

There is no required download to play the game a person can play for years and never download an archive of messages it was just a little something to let them save their messages if they wanted to before they deleted them.

I wish I had saved the rejection response but I just acknowleded it and removed the feature and resubmitted.

I understand if a game requires you to download and active x or something before you can play the game but just letting people pick to download a copy of the messages in html form doesn't even come close to a required download to play. It really sucks to that something that took five seconds to remove is going to make me have to wait all weekend before the game will be looked at again which really sucks as it was geared toward the new moon movie that came out today and i was trying to match the launch of the game with the launch of the movie.

As I said I have never once complained about a rejection but this one is just plain wrong.

I posted a topic before about my app not being approved because my app shows "app is private" message on the profile and home portians of the game- i feel that this is because the game is private and the issue will resolve once the game is public- when i posted this last topic i was told that if i resubmit the app it would be approved, i submitted it and it was denied again my app id number is= 144577 -

i just need someone who can help me get this approved or resolved.- the app has been ready for a week now and it needs to advance.

Hi, I've corrected the reasons for my apps denial and I'd like to know how to republish.

Reason 1: Profile and Home surface were not unique

Resolution: Removed the home surface

Reason 2: Canvas page did not load up in ie7

Resolution: fixed some javascript bugs in the code

I Made the requested changes to my app but app was denied for same reasons. are the reviewers viewing

some kind of cached version of the app that doesn't show the changes. The text has changed on two points

that the reviewer rejects. and another rejection issue is the reviewer says

"clicking on the "x" link on the app invite form fails to load the content and the surface appears blank in IE 7. "

which is a Myspace loading issue which does not come from my app ( the links do open properly when I tested them in ie7 and firefox).

REST based app notifications problem

Our application successfully sends app to user notifications until today. Today we still get the "posted" response so it looks like everything is fine but the notification doesnt show up in the user's notification box. It will show only occassionally. Looks like MySpace is doing something to cut down on "spam"? Is this correct and what rules are being used?

How do you request specific user permissions for a MySpaceID application?

I have implemented several MySpaceID clients from scratch now, and understand the system pretty well. However, I get errors when I try to access (some of) the OpenSocial v0.9 endpoints. The response is 401 as usual, but the error message is "x-opensocial-error: Application does not have permission to view person's full contact info". I am trying to access this endpoint:

I can see on other applications that there is a new permission configuration screen. But, when I add the app to a profile, I just see a single checkbox to allow access to information. Also, my application does not appear in the list of installed applications so I cannot click on the link that shows up for other applications to modify the permission configuration.

How do we do this? I do not have the option of creating UI on MySpace to manually request permissions using the opensocial APIs.

Accessing a user's info.

I have written a basic app in which I am trying to get the info of a number of users. For some reason we cannot get info (except for the basic: displayName, hasApp, id, name, profileUrl, thumbnailUrl, isOwner, isViewer) on anyone except for the viewer. For the viewer I can get extended fields such as aboutMe. I was under the understanding that as long as the user was a Friend or an app user we would be able to get this info. The user I am trying to get the info for is both a friend and an app user. So what gives? Am I really restricted to only getting info on the viewer?

how to avoid losing information when posting through a form on safari

hey guys, I have a simple form in my profile to allow my friends to enter their email.

this is the code. The form works great on firefox and IE. but I loose the POST information on safari and chrome. Looks like myspace isn't doing the right redirect (since they rewrite my action url) so when I get redirected I loose all the post params.

Any idea about how to avoid this kind of behavior? Thank you

MySpaceID login page not optimized for mobile devices

Hello, I'm implementing MySpace ID in my hybrid iPhone application. I'm not using the official iPhone SDK, as I don't want to call MySpace APIs from the phone. Instead, I just need to authorize the server to perform an operation once. I could set up everything successfully, but there's just a (little?) problem: the login page is not optimized for mobile devices. I'm currently using the standard URL: http://api.myspace.com/authorize I couldn't find in the docs a "mobile-optimized URL", nor in the ObjC library source code. Is there a way to display a login page adapted to smartphones?

On a mobile browser, when user clicks on myspaceid button, it redirects to myspace login page (i-e http://api.myspace.com/authorize/oauth_token?=xxx, this page is not optimized for mobile screen. Is there any way to show this login page optimized for mobile screen?
