I’ve been wanting to take a little time to introduce myself and my team. So, here it is....

I'm Jason, an Information Architect at MySpace. I head up the Information Culture Group (InfoCult), a group of tech writers, knowledge engineers, and creative integrators here in our LA office. Our role in the company can vary, but the last few months we’ve been working as the content team for the MySpace Developer Platform. You may already know Rhonda from the forums, Ron from the blogs (if you speak French or German), or the all-pervasive Stephanie, who has been working closely with us as well.

We have people on our team who speak a total of seven languages (if you count Pig Latin, certain Yiddish exclamations and Esperanto), and our folks have worked in industrial manufacturing companies, in law enforcement oversight, and even at JPL. And, of course, Stephanie adds her wide-ranging experience in development to our team, as well as yet another language. I understand that she speaks several dialects of Klingon and is an honorary member of the KLI.

My background is the same unlikely mix that is common in knowledge managers and information architects: I have studied the humanities, sociology, anthropology, psychology, art theory, design, and information systems. I have presented at conferences on topics as wide-ranging as gender in Islamic cultures, sustainable culture, the relevance of information systems theory to historical research, and many other topics involving the interactions or similarities between complex information systems and human cultures.
I have also taught at universities on these and other related issues. While this may seem like an incoherent mass, it all falls for me under the art and discipline of knowledge ecology, about which I’ll say more later.

Our group has a very diverse set of backgrounds and skillsets, but we come together with the goal of making the MDP as easy to use as possible. If you ever have any feedback or suggestions on how to make the site easier for you, don’t hesitate to let us know!

And please feel free to add us as your friends and introduce yourself!

Our pages:

Jason
Hogla
Day
Debra
Ron
Rhonda
Daniel
Stephanie
