"My Stuff" shows maybe 2-3 games/apps out of about 10 apps I had a preference to have on my home page.

Compared to last week, traffic on apps/games is 25% low today.. and will go more lower as the intended changes propagate for all users.

If you wanted to take apps away from user home, we hoped you would keep developers in loop, ask for feedback and maybe plan for a games dashboard on home page before taking it all away.

I am sorry for rant, but the way this change was released makes us wonder if you really want developers interested anymore in myspace platform.

No wonder everybody is running to FB they keep fawking up Myspace.

This set up sucks, you may as well have just told us all to go to Facebook. Myspace was a good site and taking away our ability to personalize our page and dumping themes just makes you a Facebook clone.

This is a good first attempt at making myspace more "stream" focused. however like others have mentioned before this does seem to be more clone like as you lost the personalization. You should certainly allow for themes on our home page (maybe even allowing us to make a custom theme). Also I think that the two columns blend together way too much, there needs to be either a divider line or a change in color for the two columns so that your eyes focus on that fact (there are TWO columns and not one massive one)

I HATE the new layout; it is a TOTAL facebook clone. I myself have a facebook and if I wanted a facebook I would have deleted my myspace and stayed on facebook. The ONLY thing I like more on facebook were the games. You should not have changed myspace; lots of people HATE facebook which means you are going to lose lots of people. And if you are thinking people will go back to myspace just because it's copying facebook you are wrong. They like it because it is easier and won't delete it just to make another. You should have left myspace alone. I swear I have been complaining about this all DAY and the all white background is giving me a headache.

I've already had 6 of my friends quit and make a facebook today because the new layout sucks. The previous home page was good. At least give us an option to switch back to the old page if we want. Remember if it's not broken don't fix it.

I think you should really pay attention to what the users are saying...after we are what you're selling and if users start leaving in drones(and believe me there are a lot pissed off with the FB cloning)you will sell much less... I think this is a communication problem... you tell us nothing and take away the options of keeping things as they were... not clever.

I think it’s ironic that a website called “MYspace” cannot seem to contain themselves from continuously changing, limiting, removing and basically all around sticking their fingers into 100 million individual people’s own spaces.

The other nice slap in Myface is that whenever they make these absolutely ‘brilliant’ changes- read between the lines- not only is it blatantly obvious that they aren’t doing these things because they genuinely think that it will please their 100+ million users and give us a better page- Virtually EVERY change they make is carefully designed to route (or at least to encourage to route us MySheep) users into the yet more and more Corporate apps that they keep shoveling into our pages.

The big insult about this is that every time that they pull another little stunt like this, they try to make it sound like they’re doing it for us. For example-

MYSPACE- “With this new design, we're placing more of an emphasis on all of our great content by really making it pop from the moment you sign-in.”

TRANSLATION-  From the moment you sign in to your OWN PAGE, we’re going to minimize your own personal stuff and shove all of our own crap that we want you to click on into the forefront…because we care!”

Now I know that Myspace needs to turn a profit, but don’t make it sound like you’re raping me because I asked you to do it.

Can anyone here honestly say that MYWASTE is even remotely as good as it was a few years back, back  when it was just a great, young networking site, instead of what it is now- just one long, neverending train of corporate links, banners and commercials. So I too am finally going to bite the bullet and open a Facebook account. I'm a designer and I'm used to having myspace as an option for clients to customize it for their bands, music producers and even businesses in general but now it just makes it really hard to give it any sort of the awesome profile makeup we could do in the old version. It ends up not being my space but profile-lock-space and forces us to lose that of which made myspace different, the customization of each individuals profile making them feel like it was their own space instead of shoving down profile layouts and pre-picked themes. The mistery of trying to discover new layouts on the web or adventuring in the unknown world of css gave users that sudden rush or adrenaline mixed with a technology frustration everytime they were editing their myspace.

I think you could upgrade and go to mainstream but don't cut back on giving people the option to choose on editing and customizing their myspace the "best" way because I wouldn't consider the way it was being done before "old" ...

Not a fan of the new design and I'm in total agreement with the majority of posters that Myspace is trying to be too much like Facebook..

Just think back when the WCW & WWF war was going on....just think if Vince McMahon had of given in and totally copied what WCW was doing than the WWF would have never survived the way it did....The WWF or WWE as it's known now didn't let the WCW dictate to them what they were going to do...

End result WCW got bought out by WWE and the WWE is still going strong..

Long story short....Myspace follow WWE's path and don't let your competitor cause you to self-destruct yourself..

I too agree.....and so does Kevis.....The 2.0 and 3.0 layouts were the bomb........I think the new beta profile is alittle bit too tight as far as really having a page that you love and that is customized.....and there is not enough imformation on how to switch stuff around....so yea people are going to lose interest in something "we can't really use Tom".......please don't f' with our myspace Tom........we r all madly in love with it.......lol.......seriously though.....

You have to get into modules(customize profile) and remove the calendar from the page in order to get all the adds and s##t off there......to make it blank for your graphics.......and then the little subtitles don't pop up (like books, heroes..etc.).....until you have a picture in that category......so like you have the option of having like heroes at the top.....but then you are losing alot alot of space(cuz u can't use television or books....cuz then heroes will be bumped back to the bottom just like on the other ones)   so why can't we have the other one back)......It's F'n my space tom......come on......change it back for us.....at the end of the year don't make us all change to the beta forever....please....

The new profiles SUCK. The advertising box makes it ugly and impersonal! The STREAM is a flipping nightmare.  You have ruined it. I got Facebook over a year ago & because of the apps & I grew to love Facebook. Slowly, I jus dropped away from Myspace altogether. Then I decide to start blogging again & I come back to Myspace & what the Hell did yall do to it? This is terrible! I can blog on 196 different sites but I used to really love to write on Myspace. Now, I can't get passed the damned homepage. I've been over an hour trying to figure out if there was some magic fine print I missed on how to fix this but apparently not. ~ Just so you know, you're bound to lose more & more people to Facebook, for things like this. I'd have to agree with what some have already stated,...this is no longer Myspace it's now YourSpace.  And can only be personalized the way ,....You want it.   This is a very sad excuse for what many took long enduring hours to personalize.  I guess it's time for me to move on as many others are and will do in the future.  As the old saying goes,.......Why try to fix something that isn't broke !   The development team has done a wonderful job in lowering the Myspace population and ratings.  I commend you all,......for the wonderful mess you've created.

I think it is pretty clear almost everyone hates the new Myspace but will they change it back? No.. will they give us a choice on what we want (Myspace 1.0, 2.0 or this new sh*t) NO.. UNLESS.. everyone who has complained not only on this page but everywhere should cancel their account and only THEN will the big wigs at Myspace listen to what the users really want.

functional > fashionable. its pretty and has all these nice things. Being able to see everything, videos, uploaded pictures, etc. right in someones status is a nice idea to make it easier. but what if you don't care about 95% of that stuff? I go to the page if I want to see it. Its not that much trouble. Plus the pictures are bigger. which makes the page take longer to load (especially if you have a slow connection, only just a bit longer if you have high speed internet connection) and when your mum walks by and she sees an image of a person on the screen she'll come over n be like WHO IS THAT ALJFAOMDFO and you don't even know who the heck they are because your friend commented them and the picture is just there. whether you like it or not. If the settings are anything like Facebook you can block that post when you see it, or block all posts from that friend. Which I don't want to do. I can go on for pages, I'm not sure if this will even post. but please, consider what your users think before you go changing things and think that it will make everything better and bring people back.

It doesn't take a Quantum Physics Professor to figure this one out. It was either sometime in 2007, or 2008 when 2.0 came out. When it was first introduced, Myspace was flourishing with huge success, and Myspace allowed us users to 'Choose' whether or not we wanted to switch to 2.0. If the user wasn't happy with it, they were able to 'switch back' to 1.0

Then as several months passed by, that 'choice' was no longer available to those who had 1.0 and wanted to try 2.0, but could not revert back to 1.0

I've heard cries from countless people during that time which resulted in a lot of people no longer logging on. This my friends was the beginning of Myspace's 'demise' Our freedom to 'choose' was taken away, and grossly trodden upon.

This new change will only make Myspace lose tens of millions more of it's users. With that being said, One can only wonder what's going through the mind of, 'Tom'. He's probably shaking his head in utter disbelief saying, "I should never have sold my company to these Bombastic, Bumbling Buffoons." And He'd be right in thinking so. Because you new bigwigs at Myspace destroyed something that was GREAT, and didn't need fixing.

Sad to say I find this site no longer worth my time.  It's too frustrating and the list of what I dislike has become quite lengthy.  I hear from friends that have deleted that MySpace sends a survey asking why you deleted and if you would come back if previous features were restored.  Could they possibly be listening?  Interesting, but doubtful.

At least facebook is consistent and has privacy settings for everything!  You can actually control who sees what by selecting everyone, friends, friends of friends or by specific people on your friend's list.  AWESOME!!  I miss my backgrounds and my music and meeting new friends ..... but at least it's the happier place to be!

But the v3.0 isn't the only problem here.

Why do you allow busybuddys to stop by somebody's page allow them to complain anonymously about something which can ultimately lead to somebody's page being deleted?  This is egregious.  If these busybodys complain why don't you just tell them to MOVE ALONG.  Yes i am suggesting some relaxation of the TOS. If a user allows certain things to be posted to their page and is marginally within the TOS why should somebody who isn't their friend or somebody just browsing by be allowed to have this much power?  If they don't like what they see they should just MOVE ON!!!!

Even though i have signed on to other social networking sites (not facebook) i am still gonna hang on here and hope that the higher ups here make the right decision and changes.  And maybe not interact with the intern, focus group or consultant who came up with v3.0.  You really got hosed on that one.

The one thing f/b didn't have was the way the page looked.  Myspace had that going for it.  If you make it more difficult to edit the new version, then why should I waste my time?

My MySpace page got butchered. I spent so much time making the page look immaculate, with everything lining up and looking just right, and now 100's of hours of work went down the drain.

You couldn't even get it running right when you released it, so now I can't even update my blog to tell my readers what's happening.

Are the developers a bunch of idiots.  Everyone and I mean EVERYONE hates the so called new myspace. It is awful. The new home page sucks.  I hate it and so does everyone else.

I took me 8 hours to get it back to how I like it.

Because there is no CSS you manually have to edit each entry.

You can still turn on or off modules so you can get rid of what you don't like. I got rid of the stream.

Also I think colours are limited in the custom design.

You know which one i liked the best? The one where you could move and collapse the modules on your homepage.  I also liked the fact that we could use full or lite view on profiles. Now i can only view them in full view.

have you thought about artists designing/paying to get a personal MYspace, using it as a hompage for their art/music. Art is about individualism and it's impossible to express anything at all through this sterile new page. You go to a bands myspace just because it is individual, now you might as well just go to spotify straight away.

Hi Myspace developers or whatever you're calling yourself nowadays.  I too have been on myspace for years and really valued it up until recently.  The changes to my music profile are just beyond ridiculous.  I can no longer accept friend requests and now have thousands of random friends I don't want.  I see all their highlights in my home page which are utterly boring and pointless and I don't care who they are or what they're doing and I can't get rid of it.  On my profile page, you've made space for a huge ad and my biog and video are now falling off the page on the right hand side and can't be seen.  I thought this was for me ie, MY space???  But I've must have been mistaken, it's quite clearly YOURspace.  Why would I want to use your website when I no longer have any control over it?  I'm looking forward to deleting my profile as soon as I've sorted myself a real website.  Bye bye myspace.  Soon-to-be-ex-myspace-user.

I spent ages learning css and html coding to design an artist profile with all the information people would need to veiw when  employing me.

Now it's all jumbled and I not only can I not change it back....I can't edit it to look the same way as before either.

Myspace artist profiles were always viewed as an alternative to getting your own website. Allowing your personality and individuality to show through your page design.

Now it looks as though I should have just spent more time on designing my own website and then It stay the way I wanted it!

By joining Facebook in the ranks of annoying, in your face, forced media advertising you are at least opening up the social networking market for someone to design a simple, basic site. Where people can do the things they originally signed up to do when these sites began.

It's not surprising you've gone this way though...being owned by an American Corporation, you, like you countries leaders just want to force people around the world to do what you want, with total disregard for the very people that made you successful in the first place.

If you created an upgrade with an option to choose it or not and then response was overwhelmingly in favour of the upgrade, then maybe you'd have a point.

The new Myspace is awful. Absolutely awful. The only reason I'm even writing this and haven't deleted my account already is that Myspace Music is still the best community platform for artists in my opinion.

But I am still probably going to quit it eventually if I don't at least have an option to turn it back to the way it was. The new one is too busy, too emo oriented, takes too long to load, freezes a lot, and is just plain bad for navigating. A warning Myspace, and it looks like I'm not alone: give us the option to change it back or face a mass exodus.

this new layout is crap. absolute, 100% crap. Seriously, sober up, kick the heroine addiction and make this more user friendly instead of an ADD nightmare on acid.

After all the August thru December comments, you still have not listened to the people and could care less about what the majority are saying.  Your site, like the government...is failing. The new myspace is so difficult to use. Not user friendly, not at all good for musicians and makes it very difficult for promoting. It is completely confusing to look at. I don't understand why you are NOT fixing all the problems I'm having and it seems that everyone else is having.  I have posted on the "REPORT A BUG" section and I sent an email to myspace support and no change in almost a week.  I am so disheartened.  I like the blog application and I can't use it at all, I can't read any messages, I can't post status updates and I can't change my music nor can it be heard on my profile.  There seems to be no effort of any kind for myspace to fix any problems or even respond to its members.  This is how you fall by the wayside and get surpassed by an awful and boring site like facebook.  You guys have dropped the ball so far that I'm afraid you will no be able to pick it back up.  If my problem is not fixed or addressed within this week I will delete both my pages and say good riddance (although with a heavy heart) to myspace.

Of course there are certain things I wouldnt dare scrimp on, and up until last week I thought bikini waxing was one of them.Years ago I accompanied a girlfriend to a health food store I need to stock up on my favorite granola and noticed a pot of something that looked a lot like honey in her basket.
