This is good news. However, what I am still missing is a test user that has 100s of friends that we can use for testing purposes (or did I miss it?).

I do not want to create such a user to keep garbage out of the system, but it would be great if MySpace could create and provide such a user (with "dummy" friends).

Facebook for example is doing this, and it made testing a lot of easier.

How do you have addressed this problem when testing your application?

@ Urs We currently we don't have a dummy profile with 100s of friends for developers to use.  However, this is something we are looking into and have put in our back log. :)

whenever my friends try to view my app, it says they have to be friends of the app to view the app, is there any way to fix this??

Adding testers is completely broken :(

Can I suggest that you change it to have an image instead? What if people have asterisks in their display name? It'd get confusing and hard to tell whether the user is a developer, or if they just have asterisks in their display name.

Adding Friends as Testers is not broken. The links to test the home, profile and canvas surfaces need to have a few additional querystring parameters for it to work.

Since the app is not live yet and the testers are trying to view the 'development' version of the app, they should add the following querystring parameters to the URL - appId=000000&appvers=dev.

So the canvas surface for an app with appId '00000' would be: profile.myspace.com/.../Canvas.aspx

Home surface: home.myspace.com/index.cfm

We have several people registered as devs and added to the 'developers' column who cannot get in to our test app.  Adding people as Testers has no affect either.  Ideas?  Need more info?

Once again, a "fix" is posted that does not work.  This is not rocket science to follow the instructions two up from this post.  When are you guys going to quit tap-dancing around this and actually FIX IT.  Rondata, all the respect in the world to you, as I do not envy your responsibilities, but please feed us information we can USE, instead of always following up a post with another question.  It's obvious this has been a problem area to you guys for a LONG time.  Is it ever going to be fixed or do we just have to go the developer route, risking somebody accidentally "submitting our app" and forget we ever heard the word "tester"?

We are having problems getting people in as testers. We have had to have them apply as developers and added them once the process is complete. After they add app, it is saying that "app is currently unavailable". How long does it take for you guys to fix this initial problem as stated above? It was a problem a month ago, and still is. We cannot drag people into the tester section, we have to add them as developers, taking them through the dev application process, which is a pain in the rear, PLUS, we risk people possibly hitting the publish button if they get trigger happy.........please advise ASAP

and please, do not answer my question with a question........i would very much prefer a solution........

There doesn't seem to be a "save" button on this screen and if I come back to it, none of my changes have been saved from the last visit.

is this totally broken? i've tried using this in FireFox, IE, Safari, Chrome and Opera and still can't find the "Test" panel or the "Save" button.. can anyone please advise what i need to make this work? should i try it on a mac too?

It seems that in order for test users to actually be able to test the app, they need to append appvers=dev to canvas url. Why on earth this is not written somewhere on the page where i can add test users?

This is something VERY IMPORTANT, and i need to search on google to find out this piece of info. This cost me half an hour of my time.

It's much easier to develop facebook apps.
