I am very excited to announce that the MySpace Developer Platform is going live starting Tuesday Feb 5th.

It’s important to understand what we’re launching on the 5th. This is the Developer facing end of the MDP, not the user facing. The user facing side of the Platform will be available next month.

This makes February MySpace Madness Developer Month!

Our intent is to create an even playing field, to ensure that developers have the ability to launch their applications to our members at the same time. The democratization of the Developer Platform has been important to us from the beginning. We want the members to decide which apps are their favorite, not MySpace.

We also wanted to give some time for the developers to help us improve the API before the user launch. We have created lots of great communication tools to create a clean feedback loop between application developers and MySpace engineers.
